Hi, Is there anyone out there who subscribes to Ancestry worldwide membership who would be willing to do a look-up for me please? I am looking for the death record of a John Warner HOLLIDAY. He was born in 1884 in Sulham, Berkshire, eldest son of Francis and Mary Holliday. He emigrated to NZ with his son and family in the 1950s/1960s and think he died in the 1970s. Many, many thanks. Nicky

Hi Nicky,
I don't think that NZ records have been transcribed for Ancestry - hope someone proves me wrong - I think the only way is to view the microfiche.

Oh ok Bernie - thanks for that. Well, if someone has access to NZ microfiche, maybe they would take a look for me please, although I guess I would probably have to be more precise about the area/state in NZ? Nicky

May cost you a few quid if you don't guess the year right!!

Hi again,
I may get in to town next week and see if I can see it. Thankfully we don't name the sheep so humans are few and there is just one index for births, one for deaths etc. per year and all aphabetical.

And if Bernie cant do it I might be able to when I am in town next Tuesday, but all you will get will be the year and index number, (which can be translated to reg district, if I remember rightly) unless you buy the cert.
Huia.

Your thread title is very long. When I am on Mozilla Firefox I cannot read the whole line in the threads. But I found I can when I switch to Microsoft Internet Explorer. If other people have only M.F. it could be a problem.

Hi everyone, Thank you for your replies, it was very kind of you both to offer to look up the record for me. However, I have just found what I was looking for. Another helpful person on GR sent me a list of online cemetry records for NZ and I have just waded through them all and found who I was looking for - John Warner Holliday died on 6th April 1972 in the New Plymouth District aged 88 years. Thank you again for your help. Regards. Nicky
