Dear Louise

Depends on how old.

You local library should have a roll of wills which lists wills by the year - not sure when this started from.

Older wills may be on line at the National Archives or local records office.

Ancestry has probates and wills which covers most counties but it all depends on what time frame you're looking for.

National archive online has SOME wills name searchable up to 1858.

From 1858 to date. If you can't get to First Avenue House in Holborn London - where you can search the Calanders (Indexes) for free (If you want a copy its £5.00). Or you can apply to York to carry out searches on your behalf.

And if you google for Wills and then an area/county, you sometimes find some have been listed :)
