My grandad's sister was called Cissy. Spelled SISSY on her birth cert.


So, a name in it's own right.

I knew someone known as Cissy. Her real name was Sarah. The reason she was always called Cissy? Her mother didn't know she was pregnant - she thought she had an ovarian cyst LOL

Oh dear weve had this before and though Cecilia jumps to mind, we have noted a lot of Cissys are just a nickname for the younger "sister".

My grandmother was Cissy, her name was Emily Constance, but I always thought it came from her having three brothers; a sister thing.
