Member Since: August 2004 Posts: 8 Send Message	Query: If someone appears on the BMD death index but there is no estimated birth year given - does this mean they died in infancy or could it be that their birth was not recorded in the same district as their death? I'm trying to find a death for someone born early 1800 - but appears to have died before the 1851 census. On the 1841 census it says they were born in a different county to where they were living on census night. thanks Alison

	Hi Age at death was not put on details until 1866

	If you have found the death in the index, the only thing you can do to find out if it's the person you are looking for is to buy the certificate. As already stated, age at death was not on the early death indexes, but should be on the certificate. Kath. x
