When you order a certificate you can ask the record office to cross check some information, for example the name of the father if you already know that. If the certificate doesn't match the cross-checked info then you are only charged an admin fee (about £4 I think). If the info matches, you get charged full price and sent the certificate. |

I do have Jonathan's birth certificate and was born in April 1898 and his father was called Wright Sutcliffe. But I think he could have moved to rochdale. |
