Can anyone recommend family tree / genealogy software that is capable of cutting and pasting an entire branch with several generations without messing up or losing all the data? |

I have FTM software. It does not seem to like cutting and pasting when there are two people who have the same name. In my case I have two cousins called Charles (their fathers were brothers). FTM seems to want me to delete one of them to complete the pasting operation. |

Can you not simply switch the personal details between the two brothers? |

Thanks everybody. I did succeed in cutting and pasting the relevant tree branches using FTM, and it all looked good. |

After much gnashing of teeth and tugging of hair, I have sorted out the problem and am back online with a corrected and functioning tree on Genesreunited. |
