please could anyone tell me if a cremation would be reg, the same way as a buriel

Burials are not actually registered.....deaths are.

Neither a burial nor a cremation can take place without a death cert........hence the need for registration.

thankyou Reg, I have noticed on here that people can find where someone is buried, would it be the same to find where someone was cremated

Cremation is a "modern" idea in the UK. It's only been around just over 100 years.

Hi Moira,

You can approach the crematorium/cemetery near the area where your ancestor was born and they will be able to tell you if they hold records.

My grandparents were cremated and I know where they are but I know that the cemetery do hold the record also.
