Can't find her in 1891.

If this is Bridget in Hull Prison in 1881 I would have thought that if the prison records have survived they will be at the East Riding County Records Office in Beverley or at the Local Studies Library in Hull. These records, when you find them, might give you a pointer as to where she was tried.

It would depend where the offence was committed as to where the court records would be kept....again assuming they still exist. Try either of the two places above or the Borthwick Institute at York or the North Yorkshire Records Office.

Old newspapers for the Hull area can be found on microfilm at the Local Studies Libarary in Hull.

Jeanette,...this is good im really buying this........she was a "bad character"......she was in the local scarborough press for being the most drunken and disorderly lady in scarborough of her generation and rumour has it she sold her children for money to buy booze...........if i asked ever so nicely could you email me the census you found...im so excited.

thank you

Could she have been using her maiden name in 1881? Birthplace is transcribed as Yorkshire, Yorkshire but actually reads York, Yorkshire. Occupation is given as Fish Hawker which fits. Also Hull is closer to Scarborough than Leeds or Bolton
