all three childern were born in the 1870s .George henry 1876 hoxton . robert was a gas fitter.
My grandfarther mum was a Annie wicks b 1850 bethnal green . but when she married my gg gd 1888
it says she was a spinster.

Right my gg gd Robert browning married a Annie wicks in 1888 and it says she was a spinster but on the 1891 cen there are three kids amelia 1872 george henry 1876 and elizabeth . and looked the up on free bmd as wicks and found them but on the cert i got back the farther down as Robert wicks and Annie formerly Mason ????

They can be found in 1861 but minus father.

I think she lied in 1871 to cover up her not being married.

Still have no idea where the surname of Mason comes from.

This whole thread has been a right mess from start to finish. Would have been useful to have had all the facts from the beginning.
