Hi Wendy, I know that the GRO in uk supplies overseas certs.

Look under Research on the home page:-

Try novascotiagenealogy(.)com, this is the official BMD site for the area. Their birth records start at 1864 though, but I don't know if that's all they have or if they're still working on getting their information on line. Might be best if you contact them.

Email copies are $9.95, paper copies are $19.95 (Canadian funds).

I have traced a possible family member back to 1857 in Nova Scotia. I would like to get his brith certificate. The only way I know of finding out his parents names. Can anyone tell me how I can get the certificate and how much it costs.
