inquest info help please

ps i found out that there was a flu epidemic in 1922 and on 13th january up to 803 people had died from flu related illnesses. so william and his son thomas both were victims of this epidemic. such a shame as thomas was only 22 and left a new bride and a six week old baby |

Try local papers in your family records centre. I found a report of the suicide of a family member in 1906 in the local newspaper. |

Carter, Funnily enough I`m after the same information as you. I received my great great grandmothers death certificate last week, and discovered she hung herself, this was in 1861 in Manchester, and an inquest was held. |

thanks everyone i will contact the local newspapers and see if anything was reported. the man in question was 48 when he died and his son had died 11 days earlier at the age of 22 years of again pneumonia was ther an epidemic going around lancashire in 1922? |

My sister tells me that pneumonia is common cause of death in elderly or ashmatics as they are less likely to be moving around - active people don't get it as their lungs can expel the mucus. |

You could contact the local records office and see if they hold them, but often they were not kept. The inquest was usually reported in the local papers though. |

hi i wonder if anyone could help or point me in the right direction. i have a death cert for a relative who died 16/1/1922 he was 48 years old and died of natural causes /pneumonia. it states certificate received from john w barlow deputy coroner for lancashire inquest held 19/1/1922. would there be anywhere where i could find out more about the inquest ? |
