Having problems looking up family in Australia, has anybody got any good web sites i can use,
Family info;

John Hurle 1807- born at sea
no data till 1881 census
John Hurle 74 London
Matilda Hurle-wife 65

Matilda Batten 25-born Australia
Alice Batten 8
Agnes Batten 7
Ada Batten 6
Alfred Batten 3

Have search but cannot find any Aussie info, help really needed, many thanks

yes i have tried both, they just dont seem to excist !
never hit a wall like this before, thanks for suggestions tho x

Hi Jennifer,

On the original census record it states that matilda Batten 25 widow, head of household was born in South Australia.

Unfortunately there bdm files are not on the internet for search http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/bdm/

these sites may help.

i am pretty sure I read somewhere that the easiest way to get info for south australia is to join the family history centre
