	I want to do my husbands family tree as a suprise for him. The only info I have is that his father Thomas was born in Ireland, Portaferry,Co Down in 1920 and that he was illegitamate. Where can I find a record to order a copy birth cert to start my research off or are they covered on ancestry GRO references? Any suggestions/tips would be very much appreciated to get me going. Dee

	Oh dear, dont want to put a downer on your surprise but Irish records are just about the worse you could have to trace with very little available. Put a search in for Irish and bring up threads which may help.
