Unfortunately Paul there is little you can do but this is just the sort of incident which is happening more and more often because people will equate number crunching with real genealogy and family history, I also have an erroneous tree going the rounds of Australia because somebody did not do their homework correctly. |

As long as they dont have your sister (who was b 1927) m to a man who was b 1723, and havent given her a daughter b 1747. That is what I found on Ancestry, about 60 or more people have it, and I doubt if many of them have even noticed how ridiculous it is (they have dads correct y.o.b.1899). They probably wont even see the notice another member put on the message board telling them they are WRONG, or if they do see it they wont believe it. |

Why worry! If you have pointed it out to her and she chooses to continue down the wrong route, so be it. If she passes this info. on to others and they don't check it out for themselves, more fool them. |

There's a member called Sharon Guest/Cooper who I first contacted a year ago and has never responded. She has in her tree Henry Bacon 1770 born in High Roothing, Essex. She has mistakenly added the descendants of Henry Bacon born 1770 in Loughton Essex to her tree. These are my family so I know for sure that she's making a huge mistake. How do I stop her building this false tree and possibly sharing it with other members? |
