You don't need to tell me how much of a problem it is. My Mum's maiden surname was Smith....My Dad's was Brown. When I got married for the second time, it was to another 'Brown'. Family history is a bit of a nightmare ! |

Tell me about it! Trying to trace Stephensons in Newcastle upon Tyne or Purnells in Bristol is very challenging! Do not give up,the ancestors will find you when they want to be found! |

If you want to research their history, you will have to start with at least one birth cert, to find out the full names of the parents. |

I am looking for Brown family who originally came from Bromley-by Bow/Poplar and then moved to Dagenham in Essex. I have quite a lot of names etc. but because the name is so common and they were born in 1920's onwards, they weren't on the 1901 census. Can anyone give me any advice please? |
