History of Romany gypsies, does anyone know

when gypsies stopped living in tents, approx? I think it'd be around mid 1800s but can anyone elaborate? |

Thanks ladies, only just realised I have replies! Not used to this 'bookmark' thingy yet. Carole, thats really nice for you! I didn't know tents were still used in the 1940s. Sandra, I bet your mums cousin has some tales to tell about her life! |

LOL Sandra!! No, Im afraid my lot were from Hereford and Bristol, then settled down in South Wales. They were the Roberts family, supposedly well known fortune tellers and horse dealers but no-one knows anything about them! |
