How do you trace family after 1901 please

Usually we work backwards but if your looking for BMDs after 1901 census then it's a long hard slog.

Search each of all 4 quarters year by year.

You better start with a cuppa tea!

Worth it when you find one though!

Well it really ain't always that bad! The database search facility does work after 1901 too. ;)

FreeBMD is getting its indexing going up to the 19 teens and 20s now. So for marriages after 1901, they're easily found, although there's no real way of testing one has the right person if the name is common in the area, of course.

Births starting in -- 1911, is it? -- can be searched by / will give surname + mother's birth surname. Ditto for marriages in the later period -- they will give / can be searched by spouse's surname.
