The other Alice from the 1861 census is living with her aunt Ann Woodcock on the 1871. Her daughter Mary, age 11 is listed as adopted child. There's also a Lucy Speakman, aged 3, listed as niece.
Very confusing!

If this is your man on the 1871 census in Little Bolton, he's different from the one we posted in 1861.

I think you need to specify where the marriage took place if possible.
Are your Speakmans from Cheshire as I have ancestors of that name as well?

I have a Henry Speakman who married Alice Martin on the July 25 1858. He was 24 and she was 30.
His father was John Speakman.
Her father was James Martin.

Any information would be great.
