I have found the bankruptcy of my G G Grandfather in the London Gazette in 1840. He was in Ashton Under Lyne Lancashire, does anyone know where I can find the records of his bankruptcy? Heather |

I thought the records might be at National Archives, but according to their site, they are usually held at local archives office. They also suggest searching the a2a site in case it's been put on there. |

Ann, thanks for that. I had a look and found a Bill of costs of prosecution. Which may have something to do with it. Heather |
