CAn you tell me please, if people got married in a registry office in the 1800s, would I find it on freebmd, or familysearch? |

All marriages after 1837 should be registered with the GRO, so, providing the records have been transcribed, the info will be on freebmd. |

I may be wrong, but I believe that the introduction of register offices coincided with the setting up of the general registration system. |

Not sure when registry office marriages started but think all marriages in early 1800s were in churches. You won't get a cert for pre1837 but you might find something in Parish records. Have you tried the IGI on the LDS site? |
