Where is Harrogate?

I Just looked up the ridings on google PMA, apparantly the name has something to do with "thride" meaning 3 in the old english.There are three Ridings North, East and West..(The next is why there isnt a South!!). Yorkshire was split up into 3 because of its size, as it is one of the largest counties, but also largest unpopulated land mass. Harrogate although in North Yorkshire is actually in West Riding...The capital of the West Riding being Wakefield. |

Just bought a 1909 Yorkshire Directory for North and East Ridings but Harrogate is not in there. |
