british laying in hospital endell street london

I've got an entry in a family bible that states that a death occured on 26th Nov 1917 but cannot find an entry for it.

I was told that he died from the effects of gas from WW1 and died at the Endell Street Hospital.

Can anybody help?

I've got a letter from the King to the family and a 'death penny' as well for the man.

Would the Hospital have been used for the men who were injured during the War?

Does Endell Street come under Poplar Registration District

Jan,I have just looked in my A-Z and there is only one Endell St now and that is ww2.Looked up British Lying in hospital and it was in Holborn.It was for women but closed in 1913. Annie
