If there was a will made when he joined the Navy, I suppose it's possible that a copy could be with his service papers, but it should still be in the Probate Index. If he served in WW2, only next of kin can apply for his records, and I think it costs £30.

His will should still be in the Probate Index - do you mean you've already tried that?

did'nt think of that,he died in 1960 not in a war,just trying different tracks ,if you know what i mean.dodger

does anybody know if there is a site /address to aquire a Royal Naval seamans will,i beleive all seamen made wills before they went into action,what happens to them?

ps i have done a will search for this chap in public domain with no luck,thinking that he was a sailor in war he must of made a will and put it somewhere!
