Hi does anybody know if Post Mortem reports are kept no inquest was held. Just received my grt Uncles death certificate and it says Post Mortem result no Inquest, also on informant it states causing the body to be buried with the signature in a different hand.
Dated 1969.

Hi Frances
When my mother in law died in 1995 we were given the PM report even though we didn't request it. She died suddenly in hospital but not through any neglect.
There was no inquest either. We had complained about the treatment she received at the time from her GP.

PM reports are kept but I don´t know for how long. I gave permission for a PM for a relative for Medical teaching purposes and received a "layman´s" report back with a nice letter. Perhaps the other signature refers to the person who released the body for burial.

Thanks Faith and Anna think I will make enquiries on Monday at the Record Office, I feel as though he may have died without any family having knowledge at the time. Rather fractured lot they were.
