breaks your heart doesnt it to read this. they were someones family. wonder what our records will read like in 300 years time .

I have just been reading throught the copy of the Apley Guise Parish Records and it sure is sad reading in parts... for eg....

Baptism of Alice, daughter of Pet Byrdsee & Agnes Crowley "an incestuos bastard"....................Thomas Browne, "Died in water" 1618............James Ambridge, senr. "Affidavit as to burial in woolen recd. April 3 ...................Thomas Barns, "A stranger"............No name, 18th oct. 1729, "A traveller"..........

Also, one family buried three members in a week. So very sad.
