I have details of a Bastardy order taken out in 1922 providing for one of my relatives. I have the fathers name and know the relative was born in Wiltshire, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can find out more about the father. I have searched by name but not knowing his date of birth or any other info makes it difficult. |

I found mine from census records, got his age and tracked him there - found the last census he was on then looked up death records. |

Do you mean 1822 rather than 1922, as I didn't think bastardy orders were still about in the 1900's? |

Definately 1922, - I must admit I was shocked when the paperwork came back as Bastardy Order. |
