Does anyone know if there are pages lost from 1901

EG: Huddersfield 1901 Enumeration Districts 18 & 19 give a full description of the streets (Marsh/Paddock) but on looking at the actual images they are obviously missing. District 19 for instance has only 1 image with 4 houses on Luck Lane which can't be right as on the description there are at least 10 streets mentioned. Is this a fault with Ancestry or are there pages missing? If so it would explain why I can't find people with fairly unusual names in 1901 such as Valentine Wallis or George Henry Wallis.

I think there has been a thread about missing pages on here but can't find it, can someone nudge or tell me where to look

Many thanks

1901 on National Archives has a Valentine Wallis age 59 born Farningham and living there. Occupation given as fruit grower.

I think the list of missing pages was for 1861 census - might be wrong.

Thanks Glitter Baby, I omitted from my original mail that I was looking at Huddersfield, so the Valentine you found for me is not the right one. I never thought there could be 2 men with that same name. I think I'll contact Ancestry and ask about the missing images.

Hi Jennifer,

I just saw Paddock and thought of Kent.

There is another Valentine Wallis but American showing on 1901 census on National Archives.

Good luck with the search.

the 1901 site address search comes up with 103 separate addresses for Luck Lane spread across three wards of Huddersfield:

Marsh Ward in the parish of All Saints Paddock;

the ward called "Marsh" in the parish of Holy Trinity; and

the ward of Lindley in the parish of Lindley St Stephen.

I suppose these might all be on Ancestry, under different enumeration districts, but it seems more likely that Ancestry have missed something that is available. I agree with you, email Ancestry to check whether there is a fault that can be corrected.

PS The National Archives site for the 1901 census only mentions missing enumeration books for the sub-district of Deal in Kent.

The 1901 census from National Archives shows 45 individuals called Wallis living in Huddersfield. Valentine is not one of them, but there is a "Geo Henry Wallis", aged 45 - was it this one you were looking for?
