I am trying to trace my Grandfathers brother. Frank William Harris was born in Birmingham in 1884 to Charles and Sarah Ann. He appears on the 1891 and 1901 census, and then disappears. I have looked on ancestry, army records, bmd, but can find nothing. I always knew my Grandfather had a sister, as a very young girl I met her, but it wasn’t until I started doing family history, long after Granddad moved to a better place, that I realised he had a brother, my Father is named after him, neither my Father or GandFather mentioned him Any ideas? |

Many thanks for the replies. Sorry I couldn’t reply sooner, got called into work. On the 1891 and the 1901 census Frank is living at court one Luse/Lease Lane Birmingham in the district of St Martins. He is still living with his parents, Charles (born Biddle) Harris brn 1850 Warwickshire and Sarah Ann Stokes brn 1862 Buckingham. One prob I have is that on the 1891 census Franks place of birth is given as Birmingham, on the 1901 census his place of birth is given as stow-on-the-wold Glous. I have found a birth for a Frank in Birmingham, but wrong second name, I have also found a birth in Glous, but in Cirencester. All help appreciated |
