No trace of grandfather

I have been trying for months now to find info on my grandfather on my fathers side, i am not sure of his birth date, but know that he was still alive in 1955 when my mum and dad married, but i dont think he was alive when i was born in 1958 - Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you know his wife's name? And when they were married.........approximately

Their marriage cert would tell you how old each of them was said to be at the time, plus details of both fathers.

His name was Frederick Day, not sure of his birth date. My fathers name was John Trevor Day born 14th march 1926., his mum was Elizabeth Day formaly round, dad was born in Oldbury registration district of West Bromwich Pat

Was your father the eldest child?

If so, start looking for the parents' marriage working backwards from shortly before his birth.

Reg, My dad was the youngest, His brother was Frederick Day too, but i know very little about him other than his name
