I don't want to whinge or panic but I have just had a look at my discarded 'hot matches' and it seems that they all have access to my tree. On every one I looked at the box allowing them to view was ticked.
I have tried to untick the access and every time I go back it has been reinstated.

Snap I have just added the same message, glad it's not just me thought I had ticked a box saying always allow access.

Now have to go through all my discarded Hot Matches and un tick the box!!!!

I cannot see tree permissions in "discarded hot matches"?????
What I can see is a tick which confirms that they have been discarded.

If you click on the view button it takes you to a page that on the right hand side has the allow viewing box. Each time I have unticked it, when I look again it is once again ticked.

Are you talking about the tick in the Ignored box

if you are then that to ignore the hot match

Tricia,If you note, the tick in the box is under where you type a messege if you want contact with that Hot match, this is the same as the old system, If you use the hotmatch system to contact some one but you don't want them to have access to your tree you just untick the box before sending the messege, If you don't contact them then they cannot see your tree

so remember to always remove the tick from that box before clicking on send

The ticked box doesn't mean that that person can see your tree. If you CONTACT that person and keep the tick in place then you will give that person access to your tree.

If you remove the tick BEFORE MAILING them then they won't have access. Noone has automatic access to your tree.


I think if people had been given access to trees they know they shouldn't have, then I would think there'd be a few posting about it to make others aware on here.

If you make contact through a HM just remember to untick it

I see what you mean now Roy and all.

I am glad that I have not tried to remove all of them. With the amount of pages, I would have been fruitlessly unticking for ages.
