Took me a while to read that lot Duncan lol, but it was worth it. Very worthwhile info, about enlarging the writing :-)

Something else I learned today, I would like to pass on for people who don't already know. Occasionally I find a site with ludicrously small writing, impossible to read, and Windows Magnifier just makes the writing to out of focus to read. I now know to hold the Ctrl key down with one hand while pressing the + key with the other hand, this enlarges the writing. You can also turn the wheel of your mouse instead of using the + key. If only somebody had told me that 4 years ago! Duncan

A couple of weeks ago, I deleted cookies and things, like somebody showed me ages ago. It meant when I tried to enter a site I had used before, the computer used to predict what was coming and type the rest of the address. Now it didn't, so I typed the word and entered the site via Google. With Ancestry and Ebay, I used to be signed in as soon as I entered the site, but now I wasn't. Trouble was when I tried to sign on I had a message saying Page Unavailable. I thought this was something to do with me deleting the cookies. Over the last couple of weeks I have spent roughly 16 hours trying to sort this out. I have deleted and reinstalled AOL twice. Last night alone I spent 4 hours going through a list of tasks AOL sent me, which would rectify the problem. They didn't. Today I rang Ancestry to see if they had any bright ideas. The man immediately asked if I enter through a search engine, when I said yes he said not to, but type the address in manually, and I won't have any problem. Lo and Behold he's right! The same applies with Ebay. So I can't decide if I'm hugely relieved or riproaringly angry. The point of this excessively long tale is that if you find a site on a search engine then get told Page Unavailable, write the web address down, come out of the site, then enter the web address manually. No doubt most people know this, but somebody reading it might not.
