Hi i wonder if someone could give me some advice. i have been using scotlands people to trace the clark family - very expensive. and i was wondering if there is a way on the lds site that i can find children if i know the parents names? On scotlands people i have found a birth for Janet Clark 29/9/1831 in the parish of Kilmaurs Ayr. it says- 9th child and 5th daughter of John Clark and Jean ( could be Jane ) McClymont born 24th baptized 29th September 1831. I would love to find the other children i found one Hugh Clark he is 8th child and 3rd son born 26/7/1829 Kilmaurs Ayr. Anyone got any ideas ? if i dont reply right away i am off to the doctors but will catch up later thanks linda

This has been extensively covered before. You locate one birth, click on the Batch number and then do a search using the parents names. These are the only two quoted. 1. HUGH CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 26 JUL 1829 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland 2. JANET CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 29 SEP 1831 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland Ken

If you do the search without the mothers name you get 5 children with three different mothers. 1. JAMES CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 12 SEP 1813 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland 2. HUGH CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 26 JUL 1829 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland 3. JANET CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 29 SEP 1831 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland 4. JOHN CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 08 APR 1832 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland 5. WILLIAM CLARK - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 21 SEP 1834 Kilmaurs, Ayr, Scotland Ken

You are making the assumption that they were all christened in the same church. On clear search box father john clark mother jean birth/ 1821+/-10 ayr results 24 covering 9/10 children
