Mega Help required, this woman is driving me insane (doesn’t take much!!!!) OK, I’m tracing the family of John Eatough b1884 Gt Harwood nr Blackburn Lanc’s., however it’s his mother who is causing all the problems. In the 1901 census living at 4 Lewis Sq Gt Harwood ref RG 13/3901 folio 150 page 12 Rose A Eatough age 50 Birth Year = 1851 born in Scotland (the mother) John Eatough age 20 b 1884 son Andrew Eatough age 18 b 1886 son Maria Burton age 26 b 1875 daughter John S Burton age 29 son-in-law 1891 census 10 Brittannia St Gt Harwood ref RG 12/3392 Folio 67 Page 22 Francis Eatough age 50 b 1841 ? Whalley Lanc’s Rosanne Eatough age 50 b 1841 ? Scotland James Eatough age 30 son Lucy Eatough age 18 daughter Maria Eatough age 16 daughter Henry Eatough age 13 son John Eatough age 10 son Andrew Eatough age 8 1881 census 10 Brittannia St Gt Harwood ref RG 11/4177 Folio 109 page 44 Frank (should be Francis) Eatough age 50 b 1831? Whalley Rose Ann Eatough age 42 b 1839 Scotland Elizabeth Eatough age 18 Henry Eatough age 3 James Eatough age 21 John Eatough age 9months Lucy Eatough age 9 Maria Eatough age 6 Mary Eatough age 13 1871 census 10 Brittannia St Gt Harwood ref RG 10/4169 Folio 17 Frances (Francis) Eatough age 39 b 1842 Whalley Rossanna Eatough age 26 b 1843 Scotland James Eatough age 10 son Elizabeth Eatough age 7 daughter Andrew Eatough age 4 son Mary Eatough age 2 daughter 1861 census 6 East Drive (I think) Gt Harwood ref RG 9/3091 Folio 71 Page 42 Frances Eatough age 29 b 1832 Whalley Rosanna Eatough age 23 b 1838 ? Scotland Mary Eatough age 2 daughter James Eatough age 3 months son I have a IGI submitted record which shows Francis Eatough birth as 07/10/1831 which aligns with his siblings and parents James Eatough/Mary Hand, also on this record it shows his marriage in 1859 to a Rosanna BOVEL, now try as I may I can’t find any records that match their marriage or her birth or her on the 1841/51 census. Whilst I agree that submitted records are to be treated with lots of caution however it has given me a slight lead. I thought that BOVEL may be a corruption of BOYLE/BOYEL and I have found 3 Rose Ann’s / Rosanna’s born in Scotland around the 1840 era, but I can’t their marriage anywhere which would lead me to her side. The only marriage I can find for a Francis Eatough was in Manchester Catherdral in 1859 no mention of Rose Ann /Rosanna It may be possible that they were married in Scotland ??? What with her name changes and her age yoyo ing she is proving the preverbial pain in the posteria, any help in find out who this woman is/was etc would be appreciated. There is one redeeming factor I found out when she DIED!!!!!!! Q4 1913 age 66 !!!! so another year of birth 1847
