Unfortunately in the 1881 census William Snr is a scavanger (I was hoping to find that he'd had a turn of bad luck!) and William Jnr is a Painter (house rather than portrait I think!) so neither tie in......sigh! Thanks for taking a look! Helen. |

Really faint isn't it but I thought the first William if I'm looking at the right one says Porter & A............., can't make out the second word to it. The younger William I thought it said Labourer but spelt wrongly. |

I see what you mean - its a really bad copy. I think William Snr is a Porter & ? and William Junior is an Engineer. But not 100% sure, maybe some one else can see better. Do you have them in other census with occupations that may give a clue? regards Jane |

Hi After some pretty convoluted searching I have found my family of Spacies on 1871 census - mis transcribed as Spain - only problem I can't read the occupations of either Williams! Can anyone help? For referance - RG10 Piece 4689 Folio 82 page 22. Would really appreciate this Thanks Helen. |
