Thanks, that definately is her death...Chichester would be right...date of birth just shows that she lied about her age to get married.... :D However, just asked and my dad always knew Sarah as Sarah Baxter, but that may have been a 2nd marriage because he wasn't born until 1946...shall have a look.. There is this Charles in 1881, they all seem to completely disappear after that though. There is a marriage for daughter Harriet Grace Louisa Wood in 1904 but I can't find her in 1901 or 1901. Not sure if it is the Charles your looking for but if both parents did die then it is possible the children were split and went to different relations. 1881. Name: Chas. I think you would need to find Alice's birth certificate, if the Alice I've found is your Alice she doesn't seem to be with either parent after her birth. I'm now looking to see if I can find the son Charles in 1881. Fiona.

OK...I can't find her death :( However, she died between 1966 and 1976 and is buried in Bognor Regis...can't go and see it though...am on the other side of the country...so that's not helpful. Or can I get some info about this from somewhere else? Clare

Hi No, the witnesses are completely unrelated as far as I can gather, however, the one you've found may be right because I can remember my dad saying something along those lines. I have no other clues except her sister Sarah...but there are also alot of Sarah Wood's. Thanks, Clare

How do you go about locating a family name like this on the census...there are too many for me to find the people I want! I'm looking for a Charles Wood and his two daughters Alice Matilda and Sarah (I know Alice was born before 1891 (c. 1883) - the census record I'm looking for - but I don't know about Sarah for definate). Alice married in Croydon...so possibly that area...just don't know where to start! Any ideas? Clare
