I have tried and tried but can't seem to find a marriage record for my GGM Louise Garnham -b 1874 Bethnal Green and second husband, John Peter Olsson facts unknown (may be Swedish) except that he was a journeyman carpenter. Marriage, if it even happened would be 1901- March 1903.My Grandfather Carl Olsson was born 1903 in Mile End, Canningtown. John is listed as father and mother is Louise- formerly Garnham. John left for the USA and either died onboard ship or ib the stated before he rest of the faily could join, or so the story goes. Can anyone help me to find them? I appreciate the help. |

Hello, Her first marriage was to Henry Joseph Stevens and I am pretty sure he died in 1901. Louise is listed as married on the 1901 living with her sister, Annie, daughter Louise Florence, and mother in law, Elizabeth Stevens. I found a death for a Henry Joseph in 1901 that seems to fit. |

This looks to be Henry's birth. Births Jun 1874 Stevens Henry Joseph Mile End 1c 534 I dont' see a death for him. If he didn't die then Louise couldn't have remarried. Rose |

Rose There is a Henry Joseph that died in Leigh in 1901 that I'm pretty sure is my Henry as he is the only Henry of that age to die in 1901. Another is in 1903 but after my grandfather was born. He was born in March. Brenda Thanks for the immigrant search and it may be John. But what if the other Olssons were his wife and family? How can I find out? Did it say what his occupation was? I will search the 1901 to see if they (the whole family) were in Britain then. No luck on a marriage either eh? I am wondering if maybe they weren't......... |

Yes Rose that's correct. Henry was born around 1872-1874. We know it was 1874. Ages may be off on other records by 1-2 years especially, if it's the right Henry, he died away from home and whoever identified him may have not know exactly how old he was. |
