Hi I am looking for the marriage of Catherine Willmore/Wilmore/Wilmer to William Johnson. Their first child was born in Bradford Yorkshire in 1890. In 1881 Catherine was living with her father Edward and step mother Susan in Saddleworth Yorkshire. In 1891 William, Catherine and baby Rebecca were living in Holmfirth Can someone please hrlp me find the marriage. I have looked on the images on Ancestry but cannot see it, but I may have missed it. Hi, The 1881 census image I have found says that Catherine was called WILLIAMS born in 1872 Sudbury, Buckinghamshire and living in Saddleworth Yorkshire. Is this correct. ? Joan

Hi Joan Yes that is her, she was born in Padbury ans the name is mistranscribed. Her name is actually Willmore Ann

On the 1891 image it says Catherines name is Johnson

Edward Willmore was born c1843 in Padbury, in Sep qtr 1868 he married Rebecca Gibbard, they has 3 children Catherine b1870, Eliza b1872 d1873 and Susannah b1874 d 1874, their mother Rebecca also died in 1874 I can only presume as a result of childbirth. In 1871 in Padbury there is Edward, his wife Rebecca and Catherine. Also in 1874 in Padbury Edward married Susannah Mills ( he didnt waste any time ) And in 1881 they were in Saddleworth

On the 1881 there is Emily, who I think is the daughter of Susannah from her previous marriage, although her name is down as Willlmore I think she iis Mills, but I cannot find Susannah Mills in the 1871 before she married Edward, she would have had Emily with her

As Rebecca b1890 is my great grandmother, I have just ordered her birth cert. Although I expect it will show her mother as being Catherine Johnson, and father as William Johnson.

Still hoping someone can find their marriage

Well gt grandma Beccs birth cert did arrive and as I suspected it did show mother as Catherine Johnson (nee Willmore) and the father as William Johnson.
So I am still looking for the marriage
