Can anybody cast a glance over the 1891 and 1901 Census for Edwin Joseph Gray born 1844 Oxford. I'm not sure of his profession on both returns. Thanks |

On the 1891, he is with his wife Kate Louisa at 28 Holden Street Battersea and the 1901 at Shaw Hall/Lodge, Hardwick Road, Whitchurch, Oxford, still with Kate and children. I think the 1891 is a proprietor of something and the 1901, a tennis marker? |

The 1891 I posted looks like the right family Occupation reads something like Proffesor of Lennis or Tennis |

I'd say Proffesor of Tennis and Tennis Marker - although I have no idea what that would mean - maybe an umpire?? Kath. x |
