Hi Clive, tried your solution by just missing one letter BEFORE the @ symbol.......sent an e-mail, and it was retuned as failed mail.....STILL can't understand how they [spammers] can use an e-mail which is not correct. my e-mail say dbloggs @hotmail com.....sent [email protected] [not my real e-mail].....however still returned as failed mail. The spammers got thro on vague e-mail addresses as [email protected] or just [email protected] come they get thro....still no wiser!

Don't know your email address but suppose it is joe (a t) blogs.org.uk the you can put anything before the at and it will reach you as the default addressee. C

SPAM is a terrible affliction to any person's PC - however, I have killed off almost 95% by installing SPAMFIGHTER - just enter into google for the site. YOU will get their Preffessional spamfighter download for 30 days free - then you have ther option - pay a fee, or opt for the free Home edeition of Spamfighter......I have been on for 17 days, and have very little spam - this goes into a spamfighter foler, so you can still examine, or delete and block future e-mails. Spamfighter certainly works - but I will reserve judgement until 30 day expiry date....so far, I'm 101% satisfied. There is one thing I do not understand with spam mail - if I send an e-mail, and just miss one letter, or full stop, and the e-mail is regected and returned as failed mail - however, spam mail gets through with addresses no where near mine - WHY?

Another alternative is to use Thunderbird for your emails - it downloads free and has quite good filter capabilities. C

OE has a number of tools to help you with junk mail. Click on Help then search on the word junk. Have you looked at what your ISP has on offer? I use H o t M a i l and they have a pretty good junk facility. If any does get through you have to mark it as junk but it is then gone for good. I probably get three or four a week on average.

I'm not very good with computers myself, but I think you can go into 'message' in the top bar when you have an email open and click on 'block sender' which should stop that sender's address sending any more. Trouble is they just change addresses and send out more. We get in excess of 100 a day because my son has quite a few different email addresses for different things so we get them to all addresses. I hope someone else can give you a better way of doing it. Kath. x

Is there anyway to stop/prevent SPAM e-mails. I am now getting about 25-50 spam e-mails or more a day. Betty
