This is the only James T. Chapman that I can find on the 1901 census with a wife called Florence and a son called William. However your great grandparents may not have been married in 1901 so there is no evidence that this is your family. The occupation doesn't match either, although people did change jobs:- Name: James T Chapman Age: 41 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1860 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Florence Gender: Male Where born: Highgate, London, England Civil Parish: Blundeston Ecclesiastical parish: Blundeston St Mary and Flixton St Andrew Town: Blundeston County/Island: Suffolk Country: England Street address: Lodge Cottages Occupation: Agricultural workman on farm Condition as to marriage: married Education: Employment status: View Image Registration district: Mutford Sub-registration district: Lowestoft ED, institution, or vessel: 25 Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 34 Household Members: Name Age Florence Chapman 38 James T Chapman 41 William G Chapman 6 Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 1807; Folio: 45; Page: 6. I think your best bet is to go through the complete index of marriages starting from when your grandfather was born and work backwards. Depending on how old your great grandparents were when your grandfather was born, they could have already been married for up to 20 years (or even more) before he was born. Kath. x

I am looking for my great grandparents with no luck. If anyone has any ideas of something else I could try the only information I have is below; My grandfather CHAPMAN, JAMES THOMAS (b.1912 West Ham). On his birth cert. it says Father: CHAPMAN, JAMES THOMAS, ships fireman Mother; CHAPMAN, Florence formerly SAVILL. I know my grandfather had a brother 'Bill' who is presumably William but no idea if older or younger. I can't find any further information, no marraige records, no census info. Any ideas where I could look?
