are three weeks behind with family history certificates, ordered a birth cert last Monday rang them up today to find out if they had received it ok, they told me I have to wait another two weeks, might as well gone to the GRO. Gill

That's a long time to wait Gill. I must admit I nearly always order from the GRO. The only time I don't is if I REALLY can't wait and I know the local office can send it next day. Hope you don't have too long to wait - they might catch up a bit with any luck. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen. Never had any trouble before, always get them back within a couple of days, sometimes return of post. It's the first time I have ordered from Cornwall,The daft thing is the childs birth I have ordered married in London and because iam not familiar with London Parishes I ordered his marriage through GRO at the same time and that is due tommorrow. That's very unusual. Cornish ones, from my experience with Penzance for instance, have been within a few days.
