Looking for details of my grandfather and his siblings - He was Clifford Dawson. Born 17/12/1915 Died 1977. He was born as we can tell in the Barnsley area. His 4 older siblings were John, Ernest, Leonard and Edie (possibly Edith?), we believe they were born in Lancashire and moved to the Barnsley area around the time of the 1st world war. |

HI Were his parents John Dawson and Minnie Spittle? If so there marriage was registered the last quarter of 1905 registered at Sheffield. I've found a birth entry for a Marjorie S Dawson also with mothers maiden name showing as SPITTLE reg in Sheffield in 3rd quarter of 1913 Do thse names mean anything to you? Wendy |

Thank you all for the information you have given me, i will research it further. Unfortunatly i don't know much aboout my dad's side of the family. My dad died in 1999 and never really spoke of his family. His mother died of T.B when he was 11 and his dad remarried - a Winifred Parry- and went on to have more children. My dad from what we can gather didn't approve of his dad remarrying and his younger brother lived with an Aunt or uncle we think, all we know is that they had a child called Gillian. |
