If you look on here, someone does lookups for some years for Mendlesham: www.suffolk-surnames-list(.)co.uk/ - please delete the brackets.

Jay, I expect you want to do the research yourself but out of interest what are the names you are interested in? Peter

Hi , Judith and both Peters , Apologies for the delay in replying - computer problems reared their ugly head. Thanks for the Mendlesham info to all of you. Peter ,Although I`d love to go, like many others I`m afraid I`ve no chance of ever getting to London so the SoG is out for me Jay.

Jay, I don't know if you can get to London but there is a copy of the Mendlesham fiche at the Society of Genealogists. In fact Suffolk parish registers are very well served at the SoG: there are many fiches as well as manuscript copies of the Bishop's transcripts there. Believe me, you can make a great deal of progress there without having to rely on the hit-and-miss IGI. Peter

Here's the web address for availability of fiche copies from Suffolk Record Office http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/LeisureAndCulture/LocalHistoryAndHeritage/ SuffolkRecordOffice/Services/ParishRegisterList.htm

Hi, I`d hoped to buy a fiche or booklet from Suffolk FHS re Mendlesham PRs or look them up on the IGI Batch nos.but there aren`t any. I`ll order the film from the LDS unless someone knows that the reason they`ve not been transcribed is that they`re illegible or too damaged etc. I don`t want to waste time travelling quite some distance for nothing.
