Several people have kindly given me access to their trees on GR but they are extremely slow to load and when/ if they do load are painfully slow to move around. This appears to be due to the large number of relatives in them. Can anyone give me advice on how to manage this problem. Thanks, Lynn |

Hi Lynn Most GR trees are impossible to navigate on full family view, with those with over 200 failing to load at all. You will have to use immediate family view only and navigate with that. If your slow-loading tree problem is only a recent occurence it could possibly be due to GR's latest tree upgrade. It now has the additional feature of a life-line. You can view little infestations of yellow-nappied babies plotted along a line from birth to death! Tracey |

I dont know about slow to load, I keep being thrown out of Genes, and in turn out of the internet, and have a job to get back in. |

I also find the full view's practically unusable, unless the tree's very small. |

I almost always use family view, as I find it more useful than full view, unless the tree is small. By way of experiment I have just loaded a full view tree with 2900 names on it and it took 20 seconds. TRhats with a mediocre broadband connection and Firefoz browser. Be aware though that if you have not cleared your temp files for some time there may not be sufficient space available in the cache for the tree data and it will fail to load. |
