I have a copy of the book HMS Durban 1931 - 33 by Commodore R H O Lane-Poole, O.B.E.,RN Commanding South American Division. The book details the ship's visits to various places in South America. I have it because my Father was on the ship and is mentioned in the book. The purpose of writing this is to say that at the back of the book is a list of all the officers and ships company at the time. With officers it gives ranks but with the ships company it is just initials and surname. If anyone is seeking the whereabouts of their family in this period and knows they were in the royal Navy I would be happy to check the list, and if they are on it I will photocopy it to them. Ann |
