I was looking for one my relatives an Esther Hewitt born Wolvey, Warwickshire born around 1836, and I thought i had found her in stoke golding, Leicestershire in 1881...but the result got were: Esther Mayne: head :married 45 born wolvey Annie Mayne: Dau: married 21 born stoke golding Elizabeth Mayne: Mother : wid 80 born Braunston leic now my problem is how could Elizabeth be esthers mother, surely esthers surname would be a married name. Should it be mother in law or is there a glaring simple answer that i can't see? |

Darren Just had a look at it myself. I would think that it's mother in law. A lot of people, especially in those days, would refer to their in laws as mother and father. Just as a matter of interest: Where was Esther's husband? It says she is married not widowed. Have you found him? Margaret |
