Esther and Annie are both listed as dressmakers. But the address given is 4 blacksmiths yard, stoke golding, leic. So could he have been a blacksmith. Did the census only include the people that were actually in the building at the time it was being taken?

Darren Do you have any idea of the occupations of the husbands? I have found husbands living away from the family due to work - travelling salesmen, railway workers and the like... Also, I have had cases where I have not been able to find the husband, and in some cases the wife, and they turn up on the next census!! Hope that helps! Neil

I have found one of my ancesters in Stoke golding in 1881. the entry on the census is : Esther Mayne: head :married 45 born wolvey Annie Mayne: Dau: married 21 born stoke golding Elizabeth Mayne: Mother : wid 80 born Braunston leic Esther and Annie are both listed as married but no mention of their husbands. If they were dead surely they would be listed as Widows. anyone have any ideas as to where they could be?
