I am looking for JAMES SMITH?40 Born Som. and EMMA Smith born Bishops Lydead age 50. In 1881 they are living at 10 Ambra Vale East Clifton BRISTOL. In 1901 they are in Portishead Somerset. Lots of children but would like to see who was still living at home as cannot find some birth marriage or deaths for children missing in 1901. Grateful for any information or help, Marion |

Thanks humbly Carol, yes this is the family. The step-sons are~ Hawker. Florence and Mirriam disappeared on 1901 census, so not sure if they had died or married! Marion |

So glad I found the right family. Sorry about the wrong name of stepsons, that was what it looked like on the scan, but I was sure you would know what it meant. If you have access to GRO indices, I would look for marriages or deaths from the June qtr 1891 as the census was done 5th April. |
