Sorry Susie, meant to get these on earlier but I had trouble getting back into GC, it's too busy. From 1881, this was the only young George in Bucks so I guess it must be him with his family George 48 Bricklayer Eliza 46 George H 20 bricklayer Linda 13 Clara 13 Arthur 11 Angelina 9 Agnes K 7 James C 4 All born Marlow, living at Colonels Meadow, Great Marlow |

Using the decoder on 1901 Census, this is the family living in Wooburn George Swadling 44 born Grt Marlow, paper mill engine? Margaret 31 Grt Marlow Edith 6 Wooburn Daisy 2 Wooburn Violet 2 Wooburn P.S. All the Swadling 'head of households' in Bucks came from Marlow/Grt Marlow so are probably related somehow!!! |

This is the best I can come up with for the Haydon's. Searching for a Sidney/Sydney born 1893 (according to the age on cwgc) on the 1901 I get the following: Sydney Haydon 9 Bucks Chesham Bucks High Wycombe the other Haydons living in High Wycombe are Annie Haydon 32 Bucks Seergreen Bucks High Wycombe Housekeeper Dom Mather Haydon 4 Bucks Amersham Bucks High Wycombe Philly Haydon 11 Bucks Chesham Bucks High Wycombe I know this looks way off - but on my previous experience with the transcriptions I'd be willing to go with it being a really poor trascriber or a census enumerator with terrible writing and that Mather is Martha. |

Susan, I looked up Edith's name on the 1901 and there is only one aged 6 who is living in Wooburn Bucks. Looking up all the Swadling's in Wooburn brings up the following: Charles Swadling 58 Bucks St Marlow Buckinghamshire Wooburn Paper Mill Engine Daisy Swadling 2 Bucks Wooburn Bucks Wooburn Edith Swadling 6 Bucks Wooburn Bucks Wooburn George Swadling 44 Bucks Gt Marlow Bucks Wooburn Labourer In Mill Jane Swadling 57 Wilts Rickmanworth Buckinghamshire Wooburn Margaret Swadling 31 Bucks Gt Marlow Bucks Wooburn Violet Swadling 2 Bucks Wooburn Bucks Wooburn I would guestimate that alll the ones that are listed as Bucks and not Buckinghamshire have been trancsribed together and are therfore in the same house (perhaps someone with census decoder could check this for you). The other two may be close relatives. Zoe |
