Hi I think you need to find the GRO reference either on FreeBMD (not complete yet), at your local Family History Society, at the Family Records Centre or pay for it on 1837 online - then you can order the certificate and get the information Sylvie |

Hi, If the marriage is before July 1837 it won't be on the GRO index and you will need to look in the Parish records of the church where the marriage took place. Did the IGI give the name of the church? These will be available in the country record office or (if they have been filmed) you can order the film an an LDS centre for a small fee. Gwynne |

If you can get to the record office where the film of the parish is held, then you will be able to photocopy the marriage entry, which will be in the form of the standard marriage certificate and will cost about 50p. Or you can got to your local LDS history centre, hire the film for £2.70 for a month and get the same information. Failing all that send to the local registrar for the certificate which will cost you £7 plus sae. Ros |
